South Africans Split on Zuma’s Performance

Public support for Jacob Zuma has dropped this year in South Africa, according to a poll by TNS Research Surveys. 43 % of respondents approve of their president’s performance, down 15 points since November.

Few in Sub-Saharan Africa Have Money in a Bank

Gallup surveys in 18 sub-Saharan African countries show few residents put money in the bank: 19% overall say they have personal bank accounts. South Africans (49%) are the most likely to say they have a bank account, while 1% of respondents in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo say the same.
