(Multi-country survey) Religiosity Highest in World's Poorest Nations (Click for Details)

Gallup surveys in 114 countries in 2009 show that religion continues to play an important role in many people's lives worldwide. The global median proportion of adults who say religion is an important part of their daily lives is 84%, unchanged from what Gallup has found in other years. The data shows a strong relationship between socio-economic conditions and religiosity in a country.

Witchcraft Believers in Sub-Saharan Africa Rate Lives Worse (Multi-country survey) (Click for Details)

Belief in witchcraft is widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa, according to recent Gallup surveys, and potentially affects how those who believe see their lives. Studies in 18 countries show belief varies, but on average, 55% of residents personally believe in witchcraft.

Multi Country Poll: Migration Could Triple Populations in Some Wealthy Nations (Click for Details)

Gallup's Potential Net Migration Index finds Singapore, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, and Kuwait atop the list of countries that could see the highest net adult population growth from international migration. If all adults worldwide who desire to migrate permanently to other countries actually moved where they wanted today, each country would see their adult populations double or even triple.
