Asian Nations—but Not Japan—among World’s Most Confident Consumers: Global Poll
(Globescan) Consumers in the Asia-Pacific region are among the most confident in the world as economic recovery starts to take hold, a new GlobeScan poll across 22 countries finds. But the Japanese, who are deeply pessimistic about the future, are the exception.

Muslims Integrated, Europeans Themselves Isolated[1]
(Gallup Coexist Index) Gallup Coexist Index finds that the general public in France, Germany and UK is more likely than its respective Muslim population to be classified as isolated. Americans and Canadians tops the list of integrated publics while in Asia Afghanistan and Israel has the highest number of isolated.

Zimbabweans to Future Government: Deal With Economy
When asked in 2008 about the most important issue the government should address in the next 12 months, 76% of Zimbabweans mention economic matters: economy (39%), poverty (15%), inflation (15%), job creation (4%), and unemployment (3%). In a country plagued by eight-digit inflation, high unemployment, and severe food and gas shortages, such public focus on the economy is not surprising and reflects the harsh realities on the ground.

World Publics Strongly Favor International Observers for Elections, Including Their Own
A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 17 nations finds that publics in 15 countries favor the general practice of having international observers monitor elections. In eleven of the nations, most people think that their own country would benefit from international observers monitoring their elections.September 08, 2009

PEW) Support for Osama bin Laden has declined considerably among Muslim publics in recent years.
